ZenBook 13 UX325EA Overview
The ZenBook I’m testing today continues the tradition of excellent everyday drivers disguised as ultrabooks. Rather than being flashy like most other lightweights, the ZenBook 13 UX325EA offers a rather understated design. It’s not boring, but it’s not exceptional either.

You’ll notice the same distinctive brushed metal cover with the off-center ASUS logo. The rest of the chassis is difficult to describe in terms of colour. This model is equipped with an extended keyboard. You have added an extra column of function keys. The keyboard is a little tight, but not too tight. Also, the arrow keys are ridiculously minimal. The typing feel is similar to similar devices, including more expensive ones like the Dell XPS, but doesn’t come close to what Lenovo offers, just not in this price range.
Throughput
The ASUS ZenBook 13 UX325EA-DS51 is equipped with a new generation Intel Core i5-1135G7 processor. It is a quad-core octa-core processor with 8 megabytes of cache and a maximum frequency of 4.2 GHz. Intel’s Tiger Lake processor line is based on a 10nm architecture, which promises a slight improvement over the Comet Lake models. It is difficult to accurately measure a significant difference in real scenarios. What I can say is that with this Core i5, you can get through the day without any lag.
System memory
System memory is limited to 8 gigabytes of LPDDR4X RAM. All this is soldered to the motherboard. Therefore, an upgrade is unfortunately not possible. If you want more, you should choose a more expensive model, but the price difference is quite significant.

You can multitask, open more than a dozen active browser tabs, and seamlessly run your favorite photo editing software. However, the ZenBook 13 UX325EA-DS51 is not suitable if you plan to use it for more professional tasks.
Memory slot
Storage capacity is also limited to 256 gigabytes. The ZenBook has a PCIe M.2 NVMe SSD, which is pretty fast and trouble-free. You cannot share this drive with a room-level drive, so you will need to use cloud services or an external solution if you want more storage space.
Graphs
This model has an integrated graphics card, namely Intel Iris Xe. It’s certainly an impressive GPU. It allows you to easily stream 4K content, as well as some 3D renderings and more GPU-intensive tasks. It is also possible that some random games. Games like CS:GO, Minecraft, Rocket League should run smoothly at high settings.

You can use it to send emails, edit documents, browse the web, stream content, quickly edit photos and videos, play casual games, and much more without hassle. My biggest concerns, especially in the long run, are the available system memory and the small memory size.
Display quality
The ZenBook 13 UX325EA is available with two screen types: OLED and non-OLED. The model I’m testing today has a 13.3-inch Full HD OLED IPS display. The viewing angles are fantastic, as is the color reproduction and overall brightness, especially at full brightness. It is Pantone approved and has a 100% DCI-P3 color gamut. I found the screen suitable for fairly accurate photo editing and illustration.

The brightness is 400 nits, which is more than I expected to find in an affordable ultrabook. If you’re worried that such a bright screen will reduce your battery life, set it lower. It is more versatile than the dimming screen and can easily be used in direct sunlight.
Interface and network
Overall, the interface options are excellent. They have managed to integrate a normal sized HDMI port and a USB Type-A port. You also get two fast universal Thunderbolt 4 ports. However, it lacks the ubiquitous combo audio jack. Those who wish to connect headphones must resort to a cumbersome solution: an additional dongle is included. It weighs 3.2 ounces more than the significantly more expensive 14″ LG Gram, and 4.8 ounces less than the similarly priced but slightly more expensive 13″ Dell XPS. It’s the near-perfect travel companion, whether you need it on an international flight, on campus, in a coffee shop or anywhere else.
You also benefit from very small margins everywhere. In fact, the ZenBook 13 fits into a 12-inch enclosure. It is compact, thin (only 0.55 inches) and a true lightweight.
Battery life is as good as that of direct competitors like the LG Gramm or the Dell XPS. A full charge of the 67 Wh battery is enough for about 12 hours of light use and about 14 hours of video playback. Of course, factors such as screen brightness and others affect battery life. The fact is that a charge lasts more than a day. Good news for those who want to use a true ultraportable laptop. Fast charging available. The battery charges to 60% in less than an hour.
ASUS ZenBook 13 UX325EA-DS51 : Who is it suitable for?
I think this model is ideal for students looking for a thin, compact, ultra-portable device that they can take anywhere without breaking the bank. It is also ideal for business travellers and business women who place particular importance on weight and reliability. Ultimately, I think casual users will enjoy the ZenBook 13 UX325EA-DS51 as a compact daily companion, rather than larger options like the popular Acer Aspire 5. However, if you are going to use it for essays and notes and need precision when typing, you should think twice before buying it.

In conclusion, I think the winner is the ASUS ZenBook 13 UX325EA-DS51. Considering the hardware capabilities, features and portability, the price of around $800 (at the time of this article) is quite reasonable. Despite its minor flaws, this laptop will prove to be a great companion to carry around. If you need more power, there’s a more powerful version of the ZenBook 13 UX325EA-XS74 with a better processor, twice the RAM and storage. However, the cost is much higher than that.
