Have you ever seen an image that took you by storm and made you say “wow”? Well, this one is one of those images. I have to admit that I was still skeptical about 3D Zoom on a CapCut, but after seeing this picture, I can’t imagine that I’ll ever be able to see 3D images in other applications without CapCut.
With the new iPhone XS coming out, there has been a lot of buzz about an optical zoom feature that Apple is adding to their flagship phone. This is a huge deal for a lot of reasons. First, it’s a feature that has been around for years in the Samsung camera phones, and Apple had always avoided it, claiming that it didn’t make sense when they added a full-frame sensor in the iPhone 8 and iPhone X. Second, it’s a feature that has been available on other flagship phones for the last two years, including the Google Pixel 2, and it’s now arriving on the iPhone this year. And finally, it’s been around for a while on the iPhone’s main competitor, the Samsung Galaxy series. So,
What is the new 3D photo effect in TikTok?
Many of you may be wondering if the new 3D photo effect on TikTok is possible because of the new iPhone camera effect or because of the feature of TikTok, as it is widely used. That’s not the case. The 3D photo effect was created using the Capcut editing software, which includes the 3D Zoom style. This 3D zoom style brings people or subjects closer together and removes the street background, giving the impression of a three-dimensional image. Capcut lets you apply this 3D zoom approach to any number of photos, so you can make your photos come alive in video format. If you don’t know Capcut, it’s a video editing program from ByteDance, the company behind TikTok. The app is available for free for iOS and Android devices and allows users to perform simple and moderate editing functions such as removing backgrounds, applying color filters, adding stabilization, masking, applying chrome keys and more. In addition to the video editing features, you can add various audio clips to your videos using Capcut’s built-in audio library, which is free to use.
What do you need?
As mentioned earlier, you don’t need a camera or high-end smartphone to use the 3D zoom effect; all you need is the app and your smartphone. This is what you need to get started: Message: It should be noted that the Capcut application is only available in some countries (US, UK and some other European countries) and that some of its features are specific to certain regions. Even if you installed the application via the APK or otherwise, the 3D Zoom style may not be available if you are in an unsupported region. Before you begin, you must have downloaded the ByteDance Capcut application to your phone using the links in the previous section. Let’s start now that it’s ready. Add your favorite photos Open the Capcut app on your Android or iOS device and select New Project from the app home screen. The next screen asks you to select a set of photos from the phone’s library. The 3D Zoom style is currently only available for images. To follow the trend of 3D zoom photos on TikTok, we did like everyone else and posted a total of 11 photos. However, if you want to upload more images, you can do that too. In addition, the images are placed on the film in the order you selected them; the first image you selected appears first and the last image appears last. Therefore, arrange the photos in the order you want them to appear in your video. 
Once you have selected all the photos you want to add to your 3D Zoom video, click the Add button in the bottom right corner. 
All your photos will now be added to the new Capcut project. 
Adding a 3D zoom style to your photos
When all images are visible in the project timeline, select an image to highlight. 
With the image selected, drag the bottom toolbar to the left until you find the Style option. 
Select the Style option below. 
This will take you to the Hairstyle section. To apply the 3D zoom style of this section to the selected picture, press . 
For some reason, we could only see the 3D zoom style in this area. If you notice any other styles on this screen of your device, please leave a comment below. Capcut now creates a clip with the 3D Zoom style applied to the selected image. . 
You can see that the 3D zoom style has been applied to the image when the 3D Zoom option is highlighted. 
You can now apply the 3D zoom style to your other photos by repeating the process described above. You don’t even need to repeat these steps, as you can achieve the same effect by simply dragging to the right on the timeline and then clicking on the 3D Zoom option. 
After applying the 3D zoom option to all photos, click the check mark in the bottom right corner to apply the changes. 
Abbreviated clips
So you used Capcut to apply the 3D zoom effect to your photos. If you are happy with the result, you can save yourself the work and skip this step. However, if you want your video to be more active and follow the viral trend, you can shorten the length of your stream. Each of your 3D zoom photos takes 3 seconds by default. . 
If you record a lot of photos, like we did, 11 in total, your 3D zoom video will last 33 seconds, which is usually pretty long for TikTok videos. Reducing the playback time from 3 seconds to fractions of a second makes your movie more aesthetically pleasing. Although you can choose any duration for your 3D zoom clips, you should use these options if you want to follow the TikTok trend of taking 3D photos. Make the first four clips 0.5 seconds long and the rest 0.3 seconds long. Message: If you don’t feel compelled to follow the crowd, keep all your clips within 0.5 to 1.0 seconds to make each of your photos more visible. Now that we’ve explained why you should minimize the length of clips for your video, let Capcut help you. Select a clip on the timeline to highlight it after applying 3D zoom to all photos. As you can see, the default clip length is 3 seconds. 
To shorten it, drag the end tab to the left until the time is reduced to 0.5s or 0.3s, depending on the effect you want to apply. The further you slide the end tab of the clip to the left, the shorter it will be. 
The runtime of a clip at a given time is shown next to the start tab. In our situation, we reduced the first four clips to 0.5 seconds each and the last seven to 0.3 seconds each. 
Extra tip: To change the duration of a clip in fractions of a second, you can zoom out on the video timeline. Zooming in on the video timeline does not lengthen the clip, but clearly marks the start and end tabs. 
You can click the Play icon under the preview to check how the video is playing and if the effect has been applied correctly. 
If you shorten the length of all the clips, it looks like this. You can now save your creation. 
Save 3D scale
Now that you have created a 3D zoom video, you can export your creation by clicking on the export icon in the top right corner of the screen. This symbol is indicated by an arrow pointing upwards above the hyphen. 
When you select Export, you should see a cluttered menu asking you to choose your desired video resolution and frame rate. If you want the best quality, set the video resolution to 1080p and the frame rate to 60 fps. To record video with your preferred setting, reduce one of these settings. The estimated file size below is an indication of the final size of your video. 
To save your video, click the Export option below after choosing the desired video settings. Your video is now exported from Capcut. Make sure the application is not closed or the screen is not locked. The phrase Saved to device and projects should appear on the screen after the video is saved to your phone’s library. From there, you can also share videos directly on TikTok, WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram and other apps. 
Extra tip: When you export a video from Capcut, it includes an outro with the Capcut logo at the very end. You can use your phone’s built-in photo editor to crop your movie so that only the 3D zoom shots are included, but not the end. Google Photos has a built-in editor that allows you to easily resize your movie. Open the video you created in Google Photos and select Edit from the drop-down menu. 
Now move the end pointer to the desired position and save a copy of the trimmed video.
