When we think of cheap products, we think of compromises. It is true that most cheap laptops have to make some sacrifices to keep prices low. However, there are still some models that are most suitable for everyday computer tasks. We’ve looked at over 30 devices currently on sale and compiled this list of the best $500 laptops you can buy right now.
If you want to know what to expect from a $500 laptop, be sure to read the section of the article where we explain in detail what to look out for when buying a laptop at a discounted price.
7 The best laptops for $500 can be purchased in 2019
Best value for money: ASUS Vivobook 15
Specifications required :
Processor: Intel Core i3-8145U Memory : 8 GB RAM : 128 GB SSD | graphics : Intel UHD 620 Graphics Display : 15.6″ FHD | Weight: 3.5 lbs | Battery life: 7-8 hours
The ASUS Vivobook 15 F512FA-AB34 15 is the best all-round book of the year at an affordable price. In terms of performance, there is simply little competition from other manufacturers. This model ticks all the boxes that make a cheap laptop great.
For less than $500 you get a fast Intel Core i3 processor and 8 gigabytes of system memory – a rarity in this price category. Plus, it weighs a little less than some mid-range laptops, at only 3.5 pounds. Battery life also exceeded my expectations.
Of course Vivobook 15 is completely made of plastic. It looks like a cheaper laptop, but it’s not manufactured cheaply because it uses the latest ASUS innovations such as thin frames, a new hinge design, and competitive interface options.
There is only one drawback: the quality of the display. It’s not that great. However, given the price and the specifications, I can’t complain that it doesn’t really have an exciting show.
Vivobook 15 is a fantastic laptop at an affordable price, ideal for students on a limited budget.

Best at $350: Suction power 5
Basic Specifications :
Processor: AMD Ryzen 3 3200U | memory : 4 GB RAM : 128 GB SSD | graphics : Display of AMD Vega 3 Graphics : 15.6″ FHD | Weight: 4 lbs | Battery life: 6 to 8 hours
The Acer Aspire 5 is even cheaper than the Vivobook 15, but the features are slightly less impressive. There are two models available that cost less than $500. The Aspire 5 is based on Intel and AMD. I chose the latter because it offers a more balanced performance profile in terms of costs. Plus, it’s about 50 U.S. dollars less than the Intel model.
If I wanted to find an error, I’d say the system memory is modest at best. The Acer Aspire 5 A515-43-R19L has only 4 gigabytes. Performance can sometimes be difficult, especially when editing photos or multitasking between multiple open applications.
What’s more, it’s not as portable as the ASUS. Communists, we warn you: This laptop weighs about 1.5 kg, making it uncomfortable to carry around all day.
Plus, if all you need are everyday computers, Aspire is a good guess. For just over $300, you can browse the web online, edit documents, send emails, or stream multimedia content.

Best at $250: Suction 1
Basic Specifications :
Processor: Intel Celeron N4000 | memory : 4 GB RAM : 64 GB of eMMC graphics : Intel UHD Graphics 600 | display : 14″ FHD | Weight: 3.65 lbs | Battery life: 6 hours
No wonder the best laptop you can buy is for less than $250 Acer. The company has a long tradition in producing high quality and affordable laptops. The 14-inch Acer Aspire 1 dominates this year’s very low cost market.
But don’t expect much from Aspire 1 in terms of performance. Intel Celeron’s entry-level model won’t get far. Therefore, one should limit oneself to the most basic tasks when working on it. Think about viewing, emailing and editing documents.
You get a Full HD display, USB 3.0 (but not yet type C), HDMI, a fast wireless connection and an Ethernet port. What’s more, it’s almost as portable as the ASUS Vivobook 15 mentioned above, weighing about 3.6 pounds, but it lags behind the battery.

Best 2-in-1: Lenovo Flex 14
Basic Specifications :
Processor: Intel Core i3-8145U Memory : 4 GB RAM : 128 GB SSD | graphics : Intel UHD 620 Graphics Display : 14″ HD | Weight: 3.5 lbs | Battery life: 8 hours
The Lenovo Flex 14 is your best choice if you want a Windows convertible notebook for less than $500. The 2-in-1 is usually half laptop, half tablet. Lenovo, however, is more of a laptop than a tablet.
Compromises are usually unavoidable when it comes to cheap 2-in-1 laptops, and the Flex 14 is no exception. Unlike the more expensive options, this affordable model has a 1366 x 768 pixel display, not to mention 4 gigabytes of system memory.
However, if you need a 2-in-1 solution, there are not many viable alternatives. Lenovo really delivers enough energy for your daily tasks. If you are interested in this model, you will want to add 4 GB of extra RAM on the go.
Portability is respectable, as is sensory sensitivity.

Highly portable: ASUS Chromed Books Plates C302
Basic Specifications :
Processor: Intel Core m3-6Y30 | memory : 4 GB RAM : 64 GB of eMMC graphics : Intel HD Graphics 515 Display : 12,5″ FHD | weight: 2,6 lbs | battery life: 8 to 10 hours
The stylish and discreet ASUS Chromebook Flip C302 is a fantastic 2 in 1 Chromebook, ideal for frequent or frequent travelers. It is lightweight and has enough battery capacity to last more than a day.
In addition, ASUS offers superior build quality than most notebooks under $500, an all-metal enclosure, a convenient keyboard, and sturdy hinges. Productivity is at the same level as price. Chromebook Flip is equipped with an Intel Core m3 processor, 4 gigabytes of RAM and 64 gigabytes of hard disk space.
I’m glad to see that ASUS Chromebook hasn’t so much compromised the Flip C302. For a laptop, the budget is balanced in all its important aspects. He shines like a fellow traveler: It is light, reliable, quite fast and versatile.
Since its launch, users have praised almost everything about this convertible laptop.

Best book on chrome: ASUS Chromed book C425
Basic Specifications :
Processor: Intel Core m3-8100Y memory : 8 GB RAM : 64 GB of eMMC graphics : Intel HD Graphics 615 | Display : 14″ FHD | Weight: 2.8 lbs | Battery life: 10-12 hours
The new ASUS Chromebook C425 is the best Chromebook you can buy for under $500. Unlike cheaper options, this laptop is slim and well-crafted, with an all-metal body and premium design.
Up there, up there, the show. Although less powerful than Intel’s Core i3, the processor is well-equipped for every imaginable daily task. The system memory is also exceptionally large for an inexpensive laptop: 8 gigabytes.
The display quality is more than sufficient: Screen resolution 1920 x 1080 pixels, thin edged frames and IPS panel. The colors are rich enough for my eyes, especially considering the price.
Other features include support for USB Type C, 180 degree hinges, an illuminated keyboard and a larger than normal trackpad. The Chromebook C425 is lightweight and has enough battery capacity to easily manage an entire working day.

Your Honor: Acer EVacuuming
Basic Specifications :
Processor: Intel Core i3-8130U Memory : 6 GB RAM : 1TB SSD | Graph : Intel HD Graphics 620 Display : 15″ FHD | Weight: 5.3 lbs | Battery life: 4 to 6 hours
Normally, I wouldn’t record the Acer Aspire E. But I think there’s only one reason it should be scolded. It is the only one on this list that can realistically function as a laptop to replace a desktop computer.
While most of the other computers on this list are fairly modern laptops, the 15-inch Aspire E has a different appeal. Of course, it’s bulky, it weighs 5.3 pounds, it doesn’t work much on the battery, but it’s fine, honestly.
You shouldn’t buy this laptop for its portability. You should buy it if you need a laptop to replace your desktop computer, which will spend most of its life on your desk. This household model offers an interesting combination of modern and inherited parts.
On the one hand it has a USB 3.1 support, a 720p front camera and a Full HD screen. On the other hand, you get a hard disk of 1 terabyte and a DVD recorder.
So, unlike the other options on this list, the Acer Aspire E has good performance with an Intel Core i3 processor, 6GB of RAM (expandable up to 16GB) and the largest memory capacity.

What to look for in a household booklet
If you know what to expect from a laptop under $500, you can save money now and avoid headaches later. Home laptops are not perfect. We just need to make some kind of compromise.
According to our Laptop Purchase Guide, you can choose up to 3 of the 4 main features when purchasing most laptops: Construction quality, performance, portability and price. The same general principle applies to budget books, where the quality of the editors disappears from the picture. You only need to select two of the three remaining properties.
Performance indicators: Plan for the future
With an affordable laptop you won’t get far if your expectations are high. Almost all models are equipped with an entry-level model. The cheaper you go, the less power you have. If the budget for your new laptop is less than $500, we usually try to find the most expensive models you can get for the given budget.
For laptops, the most affordable devices are usually the cheapest. A laptop that can barely keep up with current standards probably doesn’t work well. Although not all laptops are manufactured in the same way, we recommend purchasing a laptop with an Intel Core i3 processor or equivalent, 8 gigabyte memory and a hard drive to meet the increased software needs for a few years.
In terms of performance, such a laptop is close to a mid-range device. When it comes to everyday tasks, you won’t notice much difference compared to a Core i5 laptop worth over $700.
Portability: Knowing when to compromise
Like we said before, you can’t get the perfect laptop for less than $500. You have to be honest with yourself and think you want your laptop to perform at its best.
If you want to be portable, you have to settle for a smaller screen. Affordable laptops are generally not made of ultra-lightweight materials, so sizes are used as leverage. In addition, some of these laptops sacrifice performance for battery life. Beware of devices with low-speed processors (such as Intel’s Core M) or similar, and low-resolution displays (such as 1366 x 768) that do not drain the battery as quickly as Full HD.
Price: wait
Patience is usually the key word. You can get a laptop that exceeds your budget at major business events such as Black Friday, Cyber Monday, etc.
Monitor laptops at an aggressive price. Especially for those who sell between $50 and $100 more than your maximum budget. Take the popular Acer Aspire 5 A515-54-51DJ, for example. This model usually costs more than $500, but if you sell it the price is much lower, making it the best buy for people on a limited budget.
