Source: Apple Apple is waiting in the wings to unveil the new MacBook Pro and 40-core desktops, as well as an updated MacBook Air and several other new products. 2021 is expected to be a busy year for Apple as the brand prepares to launch a range of new Mac laptops and desktops with faster processors, improved connectivity and the latest designs – all in a bid to replace Intel chips. Apple’s updates and upgrades include a number of new Macs, including the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air, as well as the Mac Pro Desktop, iMac and Mac mini. An updated and redesigned MacBook Pro is expected in early summer, followed by the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro Workstation. High-end Macs are expected to feature purpose-built processors that deliver unprecedented performance and efficiency, outperforming current M1 chips. The redesigned MacBook Pro will be available in 14-inch and 16-inch display sizes, with a surprisingly redesigned enclosure that features external ports including HDMI and an SD card slot for enhanced performance. It will also support the MagSafe magnetic charger. Apple also announced that the 24-inch iMac will be available starting on the 24th. May 2021 will be available in stores. Apple has experienced rapid growth in Mac and PC sales, with the strongest year-over-year growth ever. Last fall, Apple began replacing Intel’s processors with its own M1 chips. The new chip is designed to consume less power and still offer the same efficiency as in mobile devices. The new range of Mac and PC devices is expected to include even more powerful silicon developed in-house. These new devices will feature improved graphics and processing cores, making them faster and more efficient than ever. The new MacBook Pro will likely use two different chips, including the Jade C-Chop and Jade C-Die, both of which are currently codenamed. According to rumors, these chips would have eight powerful cores and two additional low-power cores, bringing the total number of cores to 10. While the powerful cores are designed for heavy, intensive applications, the power-saving cores save battery power and perform minimal tasks, such as web browsing. The new chips will also come with 64 gigabytes of memory, while the current M1 chips come with a maximum of 16 gigabytes of memory. Apple is constantly working to improve performance and battery life in laptops, mobile devices, and PCs. The next Mac mini will feature the same chip as the MacBook Pro for seamless performance and efficiency. While nothing is certain yet, Apple will likely have to replace the Intel-integrated Mac Minis it sells with its own chipset. The Mac Pro desktop computer, due out next year, will come with two processors that are 3 to 4 times more powerful than the new MacBook Pro chipset.
