As you know, Teams has been a popular feature of Microsoft Office in the past years, but it has never been available to Windows users. That is about to change with the Windows 10 Anniversary release, as it will be a full-featured service in Teams, with new features, security enhancements, and even better integration with Office.
Don’t get me wrong: I love Teams, and am a regular user of it, but I’m not the only one here. It’s been just about a year since Windows 10 launched, and since then, the number of users has grown slowly but steadily. Most of us who stuck with Windows 10 before the Anniversary Update are all still here, but I have noticed that there has been a lot more activity on Teams in the Windows Insider program, and more people taking the plunge to join the community. For select Insiders, Teams 2.0 is coming to Windows 11.
As we all know, the COVID pandemic has compelled everyone to work from home, making it much more difficult for businesses to operate.
Employees appreciate this new work-from-home approach so much that many are voting to keep it going even after the pandemic is over.
As a result, Microsoft has made Teams one of the default programs in Windows 11, with a Teams Chat Feature conveniently located in the Taskbar for rapid access.
This choice has created considerable debate, as some of Microsoft’s competitors are unhappy with the company’s decision to bundle Teams with the new operating system.
This fresh new feature is currently being rolled out to Windows 11 Insiders who are on the Dev channel of the Insider Program.
Also, once Microsoft has worked out all of the new OS’s glitches and issues, it will be available to everyone on a stable Windows 11 rollout later this year.

Don’t get too excited just yet; if you want to use the app, you’ll have to be one of the lucky few to receive it via an update.
The Redmond-based software behemoth is releasing the new app to a select number of Insiders for testing purposes, with plans to extend the beta pool in the near future.
You’ll be able to sign in, add contacts, and communicate via individual and group chats in this first stage. We’ll offer voice and video calling, meetings, screen sharing, and other features in the coming weeks.
If you are chosen, you will need to log in with a Microsoft account, as business accounts are not permitted.
Teams currently supports syncing contacts from Skype and Outlook, adding contacts through email address or phone number, notifications with in-line replies, meeting links, and a variety of other basic features.

Insiders can also reply to chat notifications immediately in-line in the new Teams preview, which makes multitasking easier.
According to Microsoft, the Teams notice will also respect the focus assist settings in Windows 11.
If you’ve previously used Skype or Outlook for personal conversations with your Microsoft Account, you’ll be able to sync those contacts and utilize them right away.
