If you have a free date in the calendar that you want to fill with content, all you have to do is hover over that date in the calendar, click the ‘+’ button in the top-left corner, and then choose to either make a new post from scratch or schedule one of your pre-written drafts.
Creating and Editing Posts
It’s as simple as clicking on the post to bring up the quick edit menu and making basic modifications like changing the title, slug, or editorial status, or adding categories.
If you need to change the content, simply hover over the scheduled post and select the edit symbol in the top-right corner.
This very visual approach makes it lot easier to manage your complete content plan, but it’s far from the only function Strive has to offer.

The use of color coding
Another feature we like about the calendar is that each post is color-coded according to whether or not it has been published:
- Red – Hasn’t Been Started
- Orange – I’m currently working on a novel.
- Editing (yellow)
- Green – everything is finished and ready to go.
If you manage a lot of material and need to know whether a post is ready to publish without having to go through the post menu, you’ll realize how useful this tool is.
View from the Pipeline
The Pipeline view is the greatest place to check if you’re more concerned with your overall workflow than with when posts are scheduled to go out.
Rather than organizing your posts by date, Pipeline organizes them by status, making post management a breeze and increasing productivity by giving you a clear picture of which posts still need work and what kind of work they require.
Strive really displays its usefulness when it comes to workflow and productivity by going above and beyond scheduling and giving handy checklists to ensure you have everything in place before advancing each item to the next stage of the publication process.
You can assign tasks to each stage of the process by selecting the ‘Checklists’ option. Then, while you’re working on a post, you can use the editor sidebar to access that checklist to make sure everything is in order.
Strive’s content management function alone elevates it above standard scheduling and calendar applications, transforming it into a very helpful content management tool that truly achieves the goal of streamlining and simplifying the entire editorial process.
We’ve saved one of the greatest Strive features for last: the revisions function.
You will need to go into your posts menu for this, but that is hardly a negative thing considering how useful it is.
If you want to make changes to an existing piece of material without publishing it, you usually have two options: keep working and avoid using the update button, or copy the entire thing into a new draft post.
Both alternatives are inconvenient, leaving you vulnerable to errors and, let’s face it:
Are a pain to deal with.
All of it is no longer an issue because to Strive’s function.
Instead, when hovering over your posts in the menu, pick the ‘revision’ option, which gives you the freedom and flexibility to make changes as you go and schedule them just like a regular post.
Strive Content Calendar: Simplifying the Editorial Process
We began this assessment by wondering if the Strive Content Calendar could make the editorial workflow much simpler and more streamlined.
The answer is a resounding yes, after putting this powerful, cheap plugin through its paces.
The color-coded, visual calendar is appealing in and of itself, giving you a clear picture of your present schedule and allowing you to immediately identify any postings that aren’t quite ready to go public.
Strive goes above and beyond with its very useful pipeline view, workflow checklists, and the excellent Revisions feature, making it one of the greatest tools on the market for anyone who wants to reduce the problems of managing their important WordPress material.
