If you’ve ever tried to configure Windows 10’s settings, you know how difficult it can be. If you’re running Windows 10 on a tablet, you can double the effort, as the tablet is isolated from the desktop environment. As a result, you need to dig into the system directory at the root level of drive C: to find and change settings. This is especially hard to do on a tablet, since the tablet is the Windows 10 operating system itself.

PowerToys Settings is a key add-on to the Windows 10 operating system. It has been around since Windows 8, but as of the Fall Creators Update, it’s getting a drastic makeover. Toy of the Week: Microsoft has been busy with updating its apps and services for the Fall Creators Update, and in a rare example of cross-platform synergy, PowerToys Settings is also getting a Windows 11-style makeover. It’s been a little over a year since Microsoft introduced Universal Windows Platform (UWP) on Windows 10. The goal of UWP was to unify the way applications are created, deployed and run between desktop, mobile and IoT devices. Windows will no longer require developers to write separate versions for different devices and devices that support UWP will be able to run all Windows desktop applications.. PowerToys-Settings-is-also-getting-a-Windows-11-style-makeover

We thought we’d let you know that the Redmond-based software firm is considering some aesthetic changes to PowerToys Settings.

PoweToys will, of course, incorporate the general look of the forthcoming Windows 11 OS whenever they’re done with it.

As we previously said, it was only a matter of time until much of the software we use on a daily basis looked and felt like it was built for Windows 11.

PowerToys is going to undergo a complete makeover.

On Twitter, the PowerToys design team just provided another early peek at a redesigned PowerToys Settings app.

This new aesthetic update for the program features contemporary icons, new Windows UI controls, and numerous accessibility enhancements for PowerToys users, and it borrows many UI components from the Windows 11 design language.

This was a foregone conclusion, given how much early adopters value their device’s applications being in sync with the operating system.

Despite the fact that this project is smaller and less difficult to complete than some of the others Microsoft is presently working on, there is one important point to remember.

The development team is asking users to give comments on the GitHub bugs page about the PowerToys Settings UI change, which is still in the works.

Everyone is expecting that these improvements will appear for preview users first in the coming weeks before being sent out to everyone in the stable versions.

Of course, this is just one of the many applications that the Redmond tech behemoth has lately updated. Paint, as well as the Calendar, Calculator, Mail, and Snipping Tool, have all been updated to work with Windows 11.

And, as the new OS approaches its official release date, we may expect to see additional applications get the same makeover.
