Global enterprise software company R3 has launched Conclave, a confidential computing platform that protects sensitive corporate data while in use.
Conclave allows organizations to securely aggregate their datasets to solve common business problems for their customers and markets, without exposing the actual data to anyone. This paves the way for a new generation of trusted services that detect fraud, reduce costs, deliver valuable multi-party analytics, and more – anywhere the owners of the data have control over its processing.
The Conclave solves critical business problems when data sharing is necessary, but no single person or company sees each other’s information. For example, a bank that operates an electronic marketplace but wants to assure its customers that it will not see their data; or an insurer that needs to share information about fraudulent claims without violating privacy laws. Traditionally, data is only encrypted at rest and in transit, but Conclave also protects data during processing.
Leveraging the combined power of privacy computing and Intel® Software Guard (Intel® SGX) extensions, the Conclave platform is designed for developers and professional computing. It has an intuitive, high-level API that allows users to write applications on any operating system and code in the language of their choice.
Conclave is currently available as a standalone platform and is compatible with R3’s flagship platform, Corda Enterprise. Full integration between Corda Enterprise and Conclave is underway.
